Drink of the Week

This weeks drink is König Ludwig Weissbier. A great import that is a good Royal Bavarian. Has a nice golden color, with a smooth taste! Great for a nice change, and not hard to find. We picked this one up at the local liquor store.

Stacey Irvine has eaten pratically nothing but McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets since she was two. Horrified doctor’s learned of the teenager’s chronic addiction after she collapsed and was rushed to hospital.

Largest Solar in the last Five Years Hits the Earth – Make sure you have your tinfoil hats on!

The Earth was the target of the largest solar flare in five years on March 10th. It was an ‘X-Class’ flare – the most powerful of it’s kind. It bombarded the planet for the majority of the day. Luckily, nothing was affected beyond the crazies who were wearing tinfoil hats.

Wasteland 2 Crowd Funded – The father of computer RPG’s is coming back!

“Wasteland 2 is the direct sequel to the first ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG. Iceland looking to adopt the Loonie as their national currency – Long live the Canadian Dollar!

Iceland appears to be increasingly open to adopting the Canadian dollar as its official currency. While currencies such as Norway’s krona or Japan’s yen have reportedly been considered, Canada’s loonie has recently been cited as a frontrunner ahead of even more popular currencies such as the United States’ greenback. Economists say the impact on Canada of Iceland adopting the loonie would be negligible, since Iceland’s economy is less than 1% the size of Canada’s.

Why the break? Well a few interesting things have happened:

1. Jess had some laser eye surgery to correct his vision and wasn’t able to do any show editing while he was healing.
2. Scott and Jess both had regular jobs that were getting in way of recording the podcast.
3. We actually ran out of cool new info! We need help from people like you! Send us stories, news, clippings, pictures, ANYTHING!

Now that Jess can see again, he will edit up and post the next podcast as soon as he can!

We have a new guest today, Lance! He works with Scott and Jess normally, but we managed to abduct.. uhm… convince him to come on the show. Also known as “Wiggins”, Lance’s sharp wit is the perfect foil for our regular host’s dull repartee.

We are also working on getting an extra special guest for the show! All we have to do is work around each other’s insane schedules. Keep checking back for more info!

Dolphins Deserve the Same Rights as Humans – And next they’ll want a pension and benefits as well!

Scientists in Canada were told that the feisty and friendly mammals in the oceans deserved to be treated as non-human persons. The proposal includes giving them the same ethical considerations as their two legged friends on land, namely us. The statement included the rights to life and freedom, not be subject to cruel treatment and not to be removed from their natural environment. Additionally, it would require that no cetacean could be the property of a state, corporation, human group or individual.

Android on your Desktop Computer – Now with more Ice Cream!

Android-x86 is an effort to port the Android operating system to a  desk or laptop system. Designers and developers can use the OS in a live environment or as a virtual system using Virtualbox. With the mobile OS running in a neck-and-neck battle, this project tantalizes developers with yet another way to utilize Android in various non-standard project uses.

Lingerie Football League Expanding to Canada – And we’re getting season tickets!

The Lingerie Football Leage has officially awarded Regina, Saskatchewan a franchise to join the LFL Canada for the 2012 year. The yet-to-be-named Regina team will play home games in the Brandt Center, and will compete in the Western Division. Check out the LFL website for try-out and game dates.

QR Coded Condoms Let You Show Off Where you Did the Dirty – Look Ma! No Hands!

A group in Washington has been handing out condoms with a special QR (2-D barcodes) stickers on them that allows you to scan it and upload using your GPS enabled phone where you used it. A map allows people to see where the codes have been scanned. No personal info is shared, just location, time and date. We think this may be taking social media a little too far….. maybe.

Anime, a cultural icon of Japan has been seen all across the globe. But it seems they have taken it to a new level. Not only is it all over the media there, but you have to endure it when commuting to  and from work. I could see this in a theme park, but outside an apartment building?

Drink of the Week

We picked Sapporo – Legendary Biru as this weeks drink because… well.. because! It was a nice change from all the heavy ales and ports that we had been trying. With a slight taste of rice and lemon to it, this would be a great compliment to sitting on the beach, soaking up the sun. It comes in tall buy cans where we picked it up, but can also come in bottles.

A U.S> Grand Jury has added more charges against Megaupload and its executives. Sadly, these people have been marked as the “poster boys” against which the recoding industries and its various affiliates will be pinning everything they can.

Man survives in car on just SNOW for months – Remember.. don’t eat yellow snow!

A man was pulled form a car that had been buried under snow for two months in Sweden. He had been surviving on only snow for the entire period. He was found by a couple of people who were using snow scooters in the area. They quickly called the authorities. The unnamed man is currently recovering in good condition.

A man on Highway 115 in Ontario was stopped while trying to snort a line of coke.. while driving. He then led the police on a chase ending in his trying to escape on foot. With an artificial leg. While high.

A man suffered a heart attack while eating at the popular Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other customers were filming the scene as they thought it was a publicity stunt. Only when a “nurse” had the owner call 911 did people begin to realize it was no joke.

 Fraternity Being Sued for Firing Bottle Rockets from Their Butts – Rectum… Damn near killed him!

A U.S. college student is suing his fraternity for allowing another member to drunkenly shoot bottle rockets out of his butt. The act startled the plaintiff and caused him to fall off a balcony. Surprisingly enough, this was considered STRANGE BEHAVIOUR for a FRATERNITY. Need we say more?

Facebook Defriending leads to Double Murder – That’ll Teach you for removing me!

A woman in Nashville was defriended by a couple. When she found out, her father and another man went to the couple’s house and brutally murdered them. Let me get this straight… you killed them for DEFRIENDING your daughter? You orphaned they child (and possibly scarred it for life) for something as stupid as that? What is this world coming to?

Music Labels Increase Album Prices 30 Minutes after Artist’s Death – Sickening… 

Music label Sony raised the U.K. prices of Whitney Houston’s “The Ultimate Collection” only 30 minutes after the news of her death was released. Prices skyrocketed by 60% and then dropped again after her fan’s outrage was heard. Since her death, Whitney’s music has risen to the top of the sales charts and continues to hang at number one.

Body modification has found a niche in today’s society. Tattoo’s, piercing, scarification, and making large holes in your various dangly bits.
